CCOF experiences huge growth in 2007 and launches new 2008 Organic Directory
(February 25, 2008) Santa Cruz, CA – CCOF, one of North America’s oldest and largest organic certifier experienced substantial growth in 2007 with 277 new certified organic clients, up 18.2% from 1523 clients, and an increase in acreage of 141,371 acres, up a phenomenal 40.7%. This growth is reflected in CCOF’s newly released 2008 Organic Directory and Resource Guide. This year’s Directory includes more than 1000 organic products and over 1800 different businesses. The 2008 Organic Directory also includes a ‘Statistics at a Glance’ section that highlights four year trends and provides statistical information on CCOF’s certification activities.
The directory is a comprehensive listing of CCOF’s certified organic clients, products, service providers and trade association members. Products range from wine to organic body oil. All are certified organic by CCOF to USDA National Organic Program, (NOP), standards in accordance with CCOF’s long tradition of strict adherence to organic integrity. The organic businesses listed in this year’s edition include organic farmers, processors, handlers, retailers, and private labelers in 29 states and 5 countries. These businesses supply organic goods and services ranging from raw agricultural commodities to value added processes and products such as tomato sauce and pizzas.
The 2008 Organic Directory and Resource Guide is printed in full color and includes expanded listings, descriptions and indexes and a new comprehensive and easy-to-use resource guide featuring supporting members and certified clients products and services.
The CCOF directory is a resource for businesses or consumers who wish to source organic products, learn more about the variety of organic products available in the marketplace or want to better understand the organic sector. The CCOF 2008 Organic Directory provides an extensive overview of the scale and breadth of the organic marketplace in the United States. The 2008 Organic Directory is available online at www.ccof.org in both print and CD formats.
The 2008 Directory retails for $25.00 and is available for purchase at www.ccof.org.
