You know that organic…

  • Boosts the economy. Fact: Organic food sales grew by 12% in 2013, while other food sales experienced only a 3% growth.
  • Creates jobs. Fact: More than five hundred thousand American jobs were created by organic businesses in 2010.
  • Promotes environmentally sound practices. Fact: USDA organic standards require organic farmers to use Integrated Pest Management practices, protect wildlife, promote biodiversity, and work to improve and maintain native ecosystems. Organic soil management practices offer important opportunities for sequestering carbon and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

But does your lawmaker?

Laws are created every day that affect organic agriculture – from the California State Organic Program to the Certified Farmers Market Program or the Organic Input Material Program. CCOF wants your voice to be heard when it comes to making the laws that impact your businesses!

The California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) Action Fund is dedicated to advancing organic agriculture through support of elected leaders who want to help us grow organic. The fund is governed by a board of directors comprised of organic producers, like you. Join us by contributing to the fund today!
