CCOF hires and contracts qualified organic inspectors based on regional supply and demand loads; location is an important factor. See the “Current Regional Inspector Needs” section below for potential employment opportunities.
Organic inspectors are highly qualified professional auditors possessing a suitable combination of relevant education and work experience in crops, and/or livestock, and/or food processing and handling. A general requirement is the completion of relevant courses offered by the Independent Organic Inspectors Association (IOIA).
Inspectors complete additional training with CCOF, composed of 3-10 apprentice inspections.
