CCOF certification manuals and NOP standards - all in one place.

CCOF manuals describe our certification programs and NOP organic standards. We strongly recommend that all clients and applicants review them closely. These manuals explain how the certification process works, and provide CCOF’s fee structure, policies, standards under the USDA National Organic Program, and details on our Global Market Access program, as well as other programs. Certification Services Program Manual

The Certification Services Program Manual describes your rights and responsibilities as a certified operation, CCOF due process procedures, the costs of certification, certification procedures, and how to remain certified.

NOP Standards Manual

The NOP Standards Manual includes the official USDA National Organic Program (NOP) standards for CCOF organic certification under the USDA NOP. This manual is necessary for anyone applying for certification under the USDA National Organic Program Standards.

OCal Standards Manual

The OCal Standards Manual includes the official CDFA and CDPH standards for OCal certification under the CDFA or CDPH. This manual is necessary for anyone applying for OCal  certification under the CDFA or CDPH standards.

Global Market Access Program Manual

The Global Market Access Program Manual describes the requirements for operations enrolled in the Global Market Access program. This is typically only necessary if your products are exported to foreign markets where the U.S. National Organic Program has equivalence arrangements, including Canada, the European Union, Japan and more.

International Standard Program Manual

The International Standard Program Manual describes CCOF’s private standard certification for equivalence to the EU Organic Standard and Swiss Organic Ordinances. This manual only applies to operations who export organic products to the EU or Switzerland from outside the U.S.

COR Compliance Program Manual

The CCOF COR Compliance Program Manual describes CCOF’s program for certification of operations located in Canada. Our Canada page provides more information on Canadian labeling, exports, and certification in Canada.

Mexico Compliance Program Manual

The Mexico Compliance Program Manual describes CCOF’s program for verifying clients to the Mexican organic standards. This program is for operations located in Mexico, and operations outside Mexico exporting organic products to Mexico.

Retail Program Manual

The CCOF Retail Program Manual describes CCOF’s program for certification of retailers with stores located in countries or regions outside of the U.S. that do not have clearly applicable national standards for retail certification. This program is offered as a separate program from other CCOF certification programs such as NOP or GMA.

The PrimusGFS Program Manual describes CCOF’s food safety services for organic operations under this GFSI benchmarked program. We provide multiple PrimusGFS programs to meet your operation’s needs. Our Food Safety Services page provides more information about the CCOF PrimusGFS programs.
