The Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) provides financial assistance to producers of noninsurable crops to protect against natural disasters that result in lower yields or crop losses, or prevent crop planting.  To obtain coverage, producers must sign up in their FSA county office prior to the application closing date, which varies by crop. Producers interested in NAP coverage for organic crops should contact their local FSA county office.  The application deadline for many annually planted crops is March 15, 2015. As funding allows, in 2015 FACT will award scholarships for livestock and poultry farmers to attend select sustainable agriculture or humane farming conferences.
