Going Organic Project

The CCOF Foundation Going Organic Project (Project) was designed to develop educational opportunities and facilitate land conversion to organic production methods in the Central Valley and part of the North Coast. The Project resulted in 40 farmers being assisted to convert 4,000 acres to organic production through a range of programs: mentoring, educational meetings, education of
agricultural partners about organic production and certification, and assistance with certification paperwork. Read Going Organic Project Final Report (PDF) .

In addition to the strong educational component, the Project also undertook an organic watershed study with the San Francisco Estuary Institute (SFEI) to compare water quality runoff in organic and
conventional walnut orchards. Read SFEI Study Final Report (PDF).
