CCOF certified retailer Whole Foods Market is in the final countdown for selecting recipients of their Small Producer Grant.

CCOF Launches “Organic is Non-GMO & More” Seal

To support the needs of CCOF clients who wish to clearly communicate to consumers that organic products are not only non-GMO but also farmed ecologically, CCOF has produced new optional seals for use by CCOF-certified members. CCOF’s existing seal will also remain viable.

CCOF Board Member Named as CDFA Deputy Secretary

CCOF-certified member Jenny Lester Moffitt of Dixon Ridge Farms has been appointed Deputy Secretary for Legislation and Special Assistant to the Secretary at the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA). Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced the appointment last week. Moffitt has been managing director of Dixon Ridge Farms since 2005 and served on the CCOF Board for over two years. She previously served as an education, outreach and research specialist at the American Farmland Trust and is vice chair of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board.

Organic Trade Association Now Offering Farmstead Membership

Did you know that as a CCOF member, you are eligible to join the Organic Trade Association (OTA)? And now you can do so at a discounted cost. OTA is now offering Farmstead Membership to small-operation farmers with a gross organic income less than $250,000 a year. If this is YOU then you’ll be eligible for full OTA membership at a discounted price of $50 a year.

OTA membership gives organic operations the opportunity to engage the OTA on important organic topics and allows you to stay completely up-to-date on all issues in the organic industry.
