The CCOF Foundation was honored to host the We Are Organic dinner to kick off the sold-out inaugural Organic Grower Summit on December 13. The Organic Grower Summit was presented by the Organic Produce Network (OPN) and CCOF.
The dinner was an opportunity to bring together more than 100 supporters of the CCOF Foundation to celebrate our collective work to advance organic agriculture for a healthy world. Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture Karen Ross spoke about the importance of organic agriculture to California and the nation’s economy. Dinner guests also had a chance to hear from two of the CCOF Foundation’s Future Organic Farmer Grant Fund recipients, David Robles and Pascal Brooks

The highlight of the evening was a surprise gift from OPN. The CCOF Foundation was humbled to receive a $50,000 donation from OPN in support of the Foundation’s programs to train and educate new and existing organic farmers, provide hardship assistance to organic producers, and educate consumers about the importance of organic. The CCOF Foundation is tremendously grateful to OPN for their generosity and extends its most sincere thanks to Tonya Antle, Matt Seeley and the entire OPN team.
The dinner set the tone for an exciting summit the following day. More than 800 leaders in organic agriculture attended the summit to hear from experts on exciting topics ranging from cannabis regulation to investment in the organic market. The day was capped off with a sold-out trade show that connected organic growers with a range of service providers.
