CDFA Accepting Public Comment on Updated Cannabis Cultivation Regulations

CDFA’s CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing Division is accepting public comments on modified cannabis cultivation regulations until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 5. Comments may be submitted to CalCannabisRegs@cdfa.ca.gov or mailed to:

Amanda Brown, Regulations Coordinator
California Department of Food and Agriculture
CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing Division
P.O. Box 942871
Sacramento, CA 94271

The proposed changes are in response to comments received to comments received during the notice of proposed rulemaking and hearings conducted in July and August 2018. CCOF submitted public comments on the regulations that recommended prioritizing organic producer applications for cannabis licenses, streamlining recordkeeping for organic producers who are licensed to cultivate cannabis, and encouraging the use of organic-approved pesticides.

The commenting period is the next step in the formal rulemaking process towards adopting non-emergency regulations for cannabis. Each of the three cannabis licensing authorities is working towards permanent cannabis regulations.
