Deadlines Quickly Approaching for NOSB Denver Meeting!

The deadlines to register for oral comments and submit written comments to the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) at their spring meeting in Denver, Colorado are quickly approaching! It is critical that members of the public submit comments on the materials and other agenda items because the discussions at this meeting will impact future organic standards and materials allowed in organic production.

  • Biodegradable biobased mulch film
  • Boric acid 
  • Sticky traps/barriers 
  • Copper sulfate 
  • Coppers, fixed 
  • Humic acids
  • Micronutrients: Soluble boron products
  • Micronutrients: Sulfates, carbonates, oxides, or silicates of zinc, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, and cobalt

Submit Oral and Written Comments

Written comments are accepted through March 30, 2017 via using docket number AMS-NOP-16-0100-0001.

Oral comments via webinar will be heard on April 13, 0217 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Those interested in giving oral comments must register before March 30, 2017 for a three-minute comment slot. The comments recorded on the webinar will be played at the meeting. Registrants will receive additional information, including the teleconference number.

NOSB will also hear in-person oral comments from registrants on both April 19, 2017 and April 20, 2017. The meeting with occur at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, 1550 Court Place, Denver, CO 80202.

Fill Out the OTA Sunset Survey

The Organic Trade Association (OTA) is compiling data for each substance up for Sunset Review through quick surveys. The information received in the surveys will help shape OTA’s public comments and will be submitted to NOSB. OTA has also created a guide on the inputs up for Sunset Review.
