The first “gigafire” in  California  in decades, a single wildfire has reached a stunning size of more than 1 million acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. This record-breaking fire has destroyed homes, farms, and farmlands, and has displaced families and animals from their habitats. A community in the direct path of these angry wildfires is our fellow organic farmers, who already operate on razor-thin margins. This has been an extraordinary year with  organic farmers being hit with twofold challenges: first from the COVID-19 pandemic and now the raging wildfires across the region.

Meluka Australia is pleased to announce it has partnered with the CCOF Foundation’s Bricmont Hardship Assistance Fund, the only fund in the United States that provides direct financial assistance exclusively to organic farmers, producers, processors, and handlers who suffer losses due to disaster or extreme hardship.

Meluka Australia is giving back to the hardest-hit organic farmers this year and is reaching out to consumers to join in support of the hands that help feed us. Passionate about helping communities in need, Meluka Australia has launched a Limited Edition Wildfire Rescue Raw Honey infused with tea tree extract to drive this fundraiser.

Meluka Australia will donate 100 percent  of all sale proceeds to the CCOF Foundation’s Bricmont HarMeluka Bricmont Post 1dship Assistance Fund to give direct financial aid to help organic farmers get back on their feet.

“These wildfires hit home for us. At the end of January 2020, more than 11 million hectares of bush, forest, and parks across Australia had burned. It was a catastrophic event for rural Australia, and a lot of Australians had been impacted by the devastation. Our heart goes out to everyone impacted in the current wildfires raging through California. We feel it’s incredibly important to come together to support each other through difficult times like these and wanted to underline our commitment to helping those in need. We are pleased to be working closely with the CCOF to support those who have been so devastated,” said Ben Rohr, Meluka Australia chief executive officer.

Every donation counts, and consumers are invited to purchase Meluka Australia’s Limited Edition Wildfire Rescue Raw Honey TTF32 on their website for $39.95 plus shipping.

A special thank you to the organizations that assisted Meluka Australia to make its wildfire rescue raw honey possible.
