OTA Seeks Farmer Advisors

The Organic Trade Association (OTA) has convened a Farmers Advisory Council (FAC) to provide input to the OTA Board of Directors and staff on matters pertinent to the advancement of organic agriculture. 
CCOF is accepting applications for appointment to the FAC. Applications are due July 13. Under the terms of CCOF and OTA’s strategic partnership, the CCOF, Inc. Board of Directors may appoint up to five farmers to FAC.

FAC members must participate in quarterly conference calls. Additionally, OTA encourages FAC members to attend the OTA Policy Conference held annually in Washington D.C. (OTA has two scholarships available for CCOF farmers to attend the conference). No term limits or other prerequisites exist at this time.
Eligible farmers for FAC will meet the following requirements:
  • owns, leases, or is a partner in an organic farm;
  • has a full-time functional role as an organic farmer;
  • derives their primary income from an organic farm.
