Why Wild Roots Market Supports the Future Organic Farmer Grant Fund and the CCOF Foundation

CCOF and the CCOF Foundation are cornerstones of Wild Roots Market. Back in the 1990s, our owners and management team realized that if we wanted to continue to provide our customers with the most wholesome, organic, and locally sourced foods available, we needed to partner with CCOF. CCOF’s commitment to the organic movement and certification services allowed Wild Roots (formerly New Leaf) to become the first certified organic retailer in the United States in the year 2000.
By providing input on the organic standards adopted by the USDA and by certifying farmers, suppliers, and retailers, CCOF has established one of the most credible organic certification programs in the United States. Wild Roots is happy to support the CCOF Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the education and advancement of current and future organic farmers.
At Wild Roots Market, we care deeply about the food we provide to our families and our customers. CCOF and is the benchmark for insuring those standards are held to a very high level. We consider ourselves one part of a large community dedicated to spreading awareness about the importance of eating organic. We’re proud to help farmers and suppliers develop and sustain practices that ensure healthy foods are available for generations to come. Encouraging the next generation to get engaged in where their food comes from and how it is grown or raised is reflected in Wild Roots Market core values: “Know your food, know your farmer, know your roots.”
