The Organic Agronomy Training Service (OATS) seeks to hire an ag industry member to appear as the “host” in a series of 6 educational short videos on organic agriculture topics. The host will work closely with the National Program Director, Videographer, and Script Writer.

Rehearsals will occur via Zoom over a 2-4 day period in mid-August. Filming will occur near Lubbock, TX, during one week in late August or September (exact dates to be determined). Filming will be located outdoors on working organic farms and in/around agricultural facilities.

The host will be responsible for supplying their own wardrobe, hair, and make-up (the style is rural ag. professional).

We are seeking someone who can bring a sense of authenticity and who can communicate technical content in an interesting and engaging way on camera. We are seeking a host who can bring confidence, accuracy, and entertainment to the delivery of the educational materials.

  • Auditions, week of July 21 (via Zoom)
  • Rehearsals (via Zoom), mid-August
  • Filming near Lubbock, TX, in late-August or late-September (exact date to be determined)


  • Fluent delivery of content using a teleprompter
  • Engaging stage presence when delivering monologues
  • Ability to communicate complex information in an engaging way
  • Ability to work within a team on tight deadlines
  • Ag industry experience desired


  • Project-based contract August 1-October 1, 2024
  • Estimated time commitment, 65 hours total:
    • 5 hours of rehearsals & filming prep
    • 5 days (12+ hours each) of filming on location
  • Provide own wardrobe, hair, and make-up
  • Transportation, lodging, and per diem reimbursement will be provided
  • Legal status to work in the U.S.

Our training programs focus on agricultural professionals who serve farmers on the organic spectrum, from considering, through transition, and maintaining certification. These professionals include agronomists, Certified Crop Advisors, agri-business and retail service, independent consultants, and university extension educators.
