CDFA Farm to School Team: Farm to School & Urban Agriculture & Food Hubs

The CDFA Farm to School Team opened applications for 16 full-time, permanently funded positions supporting Farm to School in addition to 3 positions to support Food Hubs and Urban Agriculture. Jobs are posted to www.calcareers.ca.gov.

Regional Farm to School Network Leads -- these new positions will establish our regional California Farm to School Network collaboratives, facilitate relationships with partners across the school food ecosystem, support California Farm to School Incubator Grantees, and organize regional convenings and events. Positions are fully remote and staff should live in/near their region.

  • North Coast Region: Humboldt, Lake, and Mendocino Counties
  • Superior Region: Siskiyou, Modoc, Trinity, Shasta, Lassen, Tehama, Plumas, Glenn, Butte, Colusa, Sutter, Yuba, Nevada, Sierra, and Placer Counties
  • Central Region: Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Mariposa, Merced, Mono, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tuolumne, + Yolo Counties
  • Bay Area Region: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, + Sonoma Counties
  • South Coast Region: Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, + Ventura Counties

Farm to School Regional Producer Engagement Specialists -- these new positions will provide value chain coordination for schools, producers, + partners looking to sell foods to schools + institutional buyers. Focus is on small + midsize farms, BIPOC farmers + ranchers, + climate smart agriculture. Positions are fully remote and staff should live in/near their region.

  • Grant Administration and Outreach Specialist: This person will help engage and analyze community need + stakeholder feedback, develop simplified and accessible RFP's, and lead grant administration for

CDFA's Urban Agriculture Grant Program + CDFA's Farm to School Incubator Grant

  • Farm to Community Food Hub Program Lead: This person will lead CDFA's $15m Farm to Community Food Hub Program. Ideal candidate has food hub experience and ability to provide technical assistance and networking opportunities for food hubs across CA

Farm to Community Food Hub Grant Administration and Outreach Specialist: This person will help engage and analyze community need + stakeholder feedback, manage the Farm to Community Food Hub Advisory Board, and develop simplified and accessible RFP's + administrative policies for CDFA's Farm to Community Food Hub program.
