Live/Work Farm Manager on Central Coast

Live / Work Opportunity

• Seeking the right person to live in a tiny house and work on Four Elements certified organic farm.
   

Living

• 16’x20’ Tiny House with full loft for bedroom
• Small Freezer/Fridge, Stove, Oven, Sink w/hot water, heater
• Outdoor Shower and Compost Toilet
• $800 per month value
   

Working

• Up to 20 hours per week on farm under current Farm Manager to support small scale organic produce, citrus fruit and medicinal herb operation
• Potential to care for chickens and possibly other farm animals
• Work on property also includes (and is not limited to) caretaking, puppy sitting, daily and weekly maintenance, handy work, beautification, small carpentry projects, garbage/recycling, composting, general household/farm/landscape needs
• Position starts at $15 / hour and will offset rent up to $800
• Potential for this position to grow into Farm Manager, fall 2022
   

Requirements - person must:

• Be happy living in rural setting / farm atmosphere
• Love children and dogs and be ready to care for both
• Have experience gardening and farming
• Have light carpentry skills
• Be mentally stable
• Be thoughtfully considerate and a good listener / communicator
• Have a reliable vehicle
• Be productive working and living alone, and be ok with people around or not around
• Have attention to detail and deductive reasoning
• Practice fire safety
• Respect and live in relationship with nature
• Be excellent at following through and seeing projects to completion
• Have a positive attitude and can do mentality
• Be curious, helpful and interested in learning/growing
• Be fun and lighthearted
   

Bonus Skills / Appreciated:

• Experience with Permaculature design, implementation, and maintenance
• Composting
• Food forest planting and tending
• Zone 1 optimization
• Pond building and care
• Skilled in irrigation, water catchment and maintenance, plumbing, carpentry
• Able to operate heavy machinery ie - tractor, excavator, dozer
• Master gardening skills and value adding process capabilities
