Next week, CCOF is releasing our Roadmap to an Organic California: Policy Report, the next installment in a first-of-its-kind research project that investigates how organic is a solution to California’s toughest challenges.
From climate change to economic and health inequities, organic agriculture is a proven solution. CCOF’s 2019 Benefits Report analyzed three decades of peer-reviewed research to document the economic, environmental, and health benefits of organic. The Policy Report builds on this scientific foundation and presents nearly 40 policy recommendations to grow organic to combat climate change and foster healthier, more secure communities.
Our roadmap of change calls for sound public policy to address the needs of our organic farmers, ranchers, and businesses. From streamlining regulations to expanding the market for organic products and investing in healthy soils, the report emphasizes how a thriving organic sector is central to California’s future.
Next Tuesday, February 18th, the CCOF Foundation will celebrate the official release of the report at a release party in Sacramento. CCOF members and supporters will gather the next day, February 19th, at the State Capitol to meet with legislators to ask for their support to advance our roadmap. Will you join us?
