Cada curso se encarg\u00f3 de cultivar una parte de la ensalada desde la semilla hasta la cosecha: los alumnos de preescolar cultivaron zanahorias, los de primero, espinacas, los de segundo, lechugas, los de tercero, remolachas, una clase combinada de cuarto y quinto, r\u00e1banos, y una clase combinada de quinto y sexto, apio. Su mayor logro es que el proyecto llev\u00f3 a los alumnos al huerto semanalmente a trav\u00e9s del plan de estudios Life Lab, el club de jardiner\u00eda del recreo y el programa extraescolar \"\u00a1Cava!\". El huerto se ha vuelto a integrar en el programa escolar y est\u00e1 demostrando ser un lugar f\u00e9rtil para el aprendizaje, el juego y la creaci\u00f3n de comunidad. Todos los alumnos pasan tiempo aprendiendo en el huerto. Los estudiantes aprendieron que la abundancia del huerto proviene de la fertilidad del suelo y mejoraron la fertilidad del suelo mediante el compostaje y el uso de contenedores de lombrices. Mediante el proceso de descomposici\u00f3n, lo que habr\u00eda sido basura se transform\u00f3 en un hermoso compost.
