Como muchos en la comunidad agr\u00edcola certificada por CCOF, Sunview Vineyards es una operaci\u00f3n familiar multigeneracional. Como partidario desde hace mucho tiempo de la Fundaci\u00f3n CCOF, Sunview se compromete a reinvertir recursos en futuros productores org\u00e1nicos. El fundador de Sunview, Marko Zaninovich, emigr\u00f3 de Yugoslavia a Estados Unidos y fund\u00f3 Sunview Vineyards. A lo largo de los a\u00f1os, muchos de los profesionales agr\u00edcolas de Sunview han venido de M\u00e9xico, pero una peque\u00f1a parte vino de Yemen, huyendo de la agitaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica en su pa\u00eds natal.<\/p>\n

Hace casi una d\u00e9cada, la PBS emiti\u00f3 un minidocumental<\/a> llamado La \u00faltima cosecha: Los yemen\u00edes de San Joaqu\u00edn<\/em>. Cuenta la historia de un inmigrante yemen\u00ed y profesional de Sunview Vineyards, Mohamad Abdullah. Aunque la historia se cont\u00f3 en 2012, su mensaje sigue siendo innegablemente relevante en 2021. Detalla c\u00f3mo una familia musulmana encontr\u00f3 una oportunidad econ\u00f3mica en Delano, California, trabajando para Sunview Vineyards. Adem\u00e1s de ofrecer un contexto hist\u00f3rico, la narradora de la pel\u00edcula, Nora Abdullah (hija de Mohamad), destaca la dedicaci\u00f3n de trabajadores como Mohamad. En particular, la pel\u00edcula muestra la necesidad del toque humano -una habilidad que no puede mecanizarse- en las operaciones agr\u00edcolas. Su padre y sus compa\u00f1eros pasaban muchos d\u00edas en Sunview Vineyards seleccionando s\u00f3lo las uvas de mayor calidad para venderlas en el mercado y comprometi\u00e9ndose a administrar la tierra durante toda la vida. Los padres de Nora tambi\u00e9n se mantuvieron fieles a su herencia cultural y religiosa, a pesar de estar tan lejos de Yemen. Fueron fundamentales en la fundaci\u00f3n de la mezquita y madrasa Abu Bakr Al-Sadiq de Delano.<\/p>\n
