La agricultura ha cambiado mi vida, disfruto con lo que hago aunque a veces pueda resultar abrumador.\"<\/p>\n<p>Sylvester ha experimentado de primera mano casi todos los aspectos de la agricultura. \"Me he pasado temporadas trabajando desde que amanece hasta que anochece, escardando, plantando, cosechando, etc... Tras invertir los ahorros de toda su vida en su negocio en 2014, Sylvester construy\u00f3 un invernadero y una estructura de sombra y plant\u00f3 un acre de verduras. Su granja ha crecido a tres acres con un CSA de verduras durante todo el a\u00f1o, CSA de flores, ventas de restaurantes y 800 olivos. Sylvester retribuye a su comunidad donando productos, flores y plantas a organizaciones sin \u00e1nimo de lucro y escuelas locales. Su objetivo es que su CSA acepte los beneficios de EBT\/SNAP.<\/p>\n<h3>Amor<\/h3>\n<p>\"Me encanta ser agricultor y, sinceramente, siento que estamos empezando\", afirma. \"Me encanta la conexi\u00f3n con la tierra, estar en sinton\u00eda con el clima y las estaciones, y poder comer y compartir verduras deliciosas y de alta calidad\".<\/p>\n<p>\"Parte de la raz\u00f3n por la que mi mujer y yo dejamos nuestros trabajos y pusimos en marcha una granja fue lo que aprendimos sobre la agricultura convencional a gran escala y el sistema alimentario industrial\", afirma Sylvester. \"Vimos lo insostenible e injusto que es ese modelo, y nos apasion\u00f3 hasta el punto de lanzarnos al ruedo. Queremos intentar devolver algo a la tierra porque le pedimos mucho\".<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Los envases de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccof.org\/es\/foundation\/\">Fundaci\u00f3n CCOF<\/a> se enorgullece de apoyar a productores como Matthew Sylvester con la subvenci\u00f3n de Transici\u00f3n Ecol\u00f3gica, que concede subvenciones trienales de $10.000 al a\u00f1o a los agricultores que est\u00e1n pasando sus tierras a la producci\u00f3n ecol\u00f3gica.
