Course Content: 
 
GLOBALG.A.P. Produce Handling Assurance Standard (PHA) v1.0 NEW food safety standard for the pre-process production steps after the point of harvest for crops including cooling, packing, re-packing, handling, and storage of produce for human consumption. Applying for GFSI benchmarking in 2018/2019. This standard will be published in the Interim Final stage at the time of this workshop.
 
Please note: This training serves a broad audience, including In-house Trainers (IHTs) from GLOBALG.A.P. approved Certification Bodies (CBs). One hour will be reserved at the end of the first day to address information and questions relevant for CBs. This training also serves those already licensed as Farm Assurers who are seeking additional recognition for their qualification in the PHA standard. 
 
Day 1-2, classroom training: 
  • Detailed review of the DRAFT PHA v1.0 General Regulations, based on the rules of GLOBALG.A.P. Certification System.
  • Detailed review of the PHA v1.0 Control Points and Compliance Criteria (CPCC).
  • Focused classroom discussions on trial audits, case studies and scenarios, and detailed question and answer sessions to understand how the GLOBALG.A.P. System will apply in practice.
  • CB In-House-Trainer PHA and Farm Assurer PHA exam. 
 
Day 3, on-site training:
  • Practical produce handling facility training day solidifies knowledge gained during the classroom training.
  • This demonstration day provides insight into real audit situations, including: tour of a produce handling facility with focus on how the PHA system is applicable in specific produce handling situations.
  • Students are able to ask questions to the site key staff and draw conclusions about the application of the GLOBALG.A.P. PHA System.
  • For a GLOBALG.A.P. Licensed Farm Assurer to become recognized for PHA qualifications, participation in the classroom days and the on-farm training day is required.
  • While IHTs are not required to participate in the on-site day, we encourage participation and feedback for this NEW addition to the GLOBALG.A.P. System.

 

Fees:
Day 1-2: $500
Day 1-3: $750
 
Exam: $100 (required for Farm Assurer applicants and In-house Trainers; optional for all others)
 
The workshop fee includes a certificate of attendance, meals, and refreshments during the workshop. Presentations and standard documents will be sent by e-mail beforehand as PDF files. GLOBALG.A.P. members receive a 10% discount off of registration fees.
 
Who should participate? 
  • Producers who may be audited to the GLOBALG.A.P. PHA standard
  • Auditors/inspectors for GLOBALG.A.P. PHA or that would like more information and experience
  • Farm Assurers seeking recognition for their PHA qualifications. Farm Assurers must already be licensed for IFA Crops in order to gain recognition for PHA. Certification Body In-house Trainers (IHT) for PHA 
  • Anyone interested in how the GLOBALG.A.P. Certification System operates

As confirmation, an e-mail and invoice for the participation fee will be sent. 
 
Cancellation Policy:
Participants must cancel with a written notice submitted no later than two weeks prior to the beginning of a workshop to be entitled to a full refund of the workshop fee. For any later cancellations, no refund will be made.
