Healthy Food, Healthy Students: How to Avoid Toxic Pesticides in School Food and Move to Organic for All Webinar

Tuesday, April 30th 1-2pm PDT

Please join us for a webinar about a public health issue of concern and interest to K-12 schools across the country.

Participants will learn about:

  • Center for Environmental Health’s test results that found concerning levels of glyphosate(pesticide) residues in popular breakfast foods served in K-12 schools. Learn about the health and environmental risks associated with glyphosate, especially for young children, and efforts to expand organic options.
  • Friends of the Earth’s peerreviewed study that found pesticide levels in people’s bodies dropped up to 95% after one week on an organic diet. Learn how schools can expand organic offerings by reducing food costs via climate-friendly menus and about FOE’s Organic for All campaign.
  • CCOF’s Roadmap to an Organic California: a groundbreaking research project which presents organic agriculture as an evidence-based approach to improving the health and prosperity of California and offers a roadmap for increasing the state’s organic farmland.
  • CCOF's The Future Organic Farmer Grant Fund provides financial support for organic education from kindergarten through college.
