“I got into organic agriculture after working in a very conventional ornamental plant nursery. It got me thinking there has to be a safer, healthier way to grow plants. When I went back to college at CSU Fresno, I was disappointed that there was very little mention of non-chemical agriculture, but I educated myself about organics and was part of the group that got CSUF to transition a small part of their farm over. After school, my husband and I started a small vegetable operation in the foothills east of Fresno, and we currently run a CSA with about 50 boxes per week.
I started inspecting to help support my farm, and grew to love the work. My favorite thing about inspecting is learning something new every time I go out to a farm. In my free time I like to read, hike, play soccer, and cook from food off the farm.”
