CDFA and Israeli Ministry of Ag to Co-Host Forum on Water and Agriculture

One year after California Department of Food and Agriculture’s (CDFA) Secretary Karen Ross led a delegation to Israel on a California Climate-Smart Agriculture Policy Mission, CDFA and the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will co-host a forum on water and agriculture.

CDFA Announces Public Licensing Workshops for Cannabis Cultivators in March and April

The California Department of Food and Agriculture’s (CDFA) CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing Division will host seven public workshops throughout California starting on March 27. CDFA will provide guidance on how to complete the annual cannabis cultivation license application, including information on business-entity structure documentation, bond forms, criminal history, fees, local-authorization documents, and diagram requirements. 
 

Certified Transitional Initiatives: Unlimited Potential to Change the Organic Food Sector

Hundreds are expected to turn out for a panel session at the upcoming Organic & Non-GMO Forum that will address certified transitional, a new process spearheaded by Kellogg-owned Kashi in which a third party certification company monitors and approves farms that are transitioning from conventional to organic.

The 2nd Annual Organic & Non-GMO Forum 2016, to be held November 14-15, 2016, at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, is the only domestic conference of its kind, bringing together stakeholders across the organic and non-GMO value chain, from production to packaging.

COPAC Considers Cannabis & Announces Survey at First Meeting of the Year

EcoFarm Bus Tour Highlights CCOF Members Farming on Hollister Plain

Each year the EcoFarm Conference kicks off with a popular all-day farm bus tour. This year, the tour was titled “Organic Farming On and Near the Hollister Plain” and brought participants to farms and ranches in the Hollister area, including three CCOF-certified operations: Coke Farm, Morris Grassfed, and Pinnacle Organically Grown Produce.
