Moonflower Farms is a sustainable city farm based in Houston, Texas that grows hydroponic lettuces, herbs, edible flowers, and microgreens. Moonflower Farms delivers to the top restaurants in Houston and is working with regional grocers to provide hyperlocal produce to their stores. This hyperlocal production greatly reduces the transport waste and related emissions and also provides a higher quality, more nutritionally dense product to the local market. Moonflower Farms is also working with NASA and related agencies to help “put flowers on the moon” by designing modular hydroponic grow systems.
