Farmers Advocating for Organic, CCOF Foundation’s 2019 Organic Champion

by Shawna Rodgers |

Join us at the Annual CCOF Foundation Awards Feast to celebrate our 2019 Organic Champion, Farmers Advocating for Organic (FAFO). FAFO is the largest organic-focused and farmer-funded grant program in the United States. The fund is a means for dairy cooperative Organic Valley farmers to support long-term, sustainable solutions to the problems facing organic. One of the biggest threats to the industry is an aging population of organic producers, and one of the solutions is to inspire and educate the next generation of producers who will assume the responsibility of land stewardship.

To address this looming problem, the CCOF Foundation offers financial assistance to students and teachers of organic agriculture through our Future Organic Farmer Grant Fund. FAFO has been an Advisory Committee member of CCOF Foundation’s Future Organic Farmer Grant Fund since its inception in 2014. We are thrilled that Future Organic Farmer grant recipient Laila Souza will join FAFO at the CCOF Foundation Awards Feast and speak about her high school FFA Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) project.

Join us on February 26 in Fresno, California to honor FAFO and toast to organic!
