Riven Rock Gardens

We\'re a tiny family business. Just some folks in the hills who grow a really unusual cactus plant. This plant was developed hundreds of years ago by the Maya and introduced to us by some explorers. We grow it in much the same way as the ancient Maya, using organic methods and hand-terraced hillside plantings.
We\'re located in the semi-remote, very rural California Central Coast, about halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, and only a few miles from the ocean.
We\'re at a 1,000-foot elevation on a hillside that used to be underwater and in which we sometimes find shell fossils. This particular soil is almost ideal for the cactus.
