If you’re a certified organic farmer, rancher, or processor/handler wondering about your Organic Certification Cost Share reimbursement for 2025, here’s the most important thing to know:
✅ No action is needed right now.
USDA has not yet released the 2025 cost share funds. They’re working through a final administrative step, and it’s unclear when that will be completed.
We’re keeping a close eye on this and will share updates as soon as they’re available.
What is the Organic Certification Cost Share Program?
This USDA program helps cover part of your organic certification costs, including registration in a state organic program, such as the California State Organic Program. In the past, the Program has reimbursed 75% of fees up to a maximum of $750 per scope. Scopes include crops, wild crops, livestock, processing/handling. USDA has not yet announced the amount of reimbursement that will be covered this year.
Organic operations can apply at their local Farm Service Agency office or through participating state departments of agriculture. CCOF supports our members in providing the required paperwork by sending each certified operation a packet with all necessary documents and proof of fee payment.
What should you do?
Just hang tight. We are closely tracking this important program, and we will let you know as soon as it’s time to take action.
