I. Introduction
The CCOF Foundation is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Development Consultant to support the planning and execution of a $10 million capital campaign to establish a permanent endowment over the next three years. This endowment will ensure the long-term sustainability of our mission to advance organic agriculture through education, technical assistance, and advocacy.
II. About the CCOF Foundation
The CCOF Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to supporting organic farmers and the organic movement. We provide education, grants, and technical assistance to help farmers transition to and thrive in organic agriculture. Our work is rooted in the belief that organic farming is a powerful solution to climate change, public health, and economic resilience.
III. Scope of Work
The selected consultant will work with the CCOF Development Director to:
- Advise on CCOF’s current capital campaign strategy, develop recommendations for improvement, and help implement a comprehensive capital campaign strategy.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals.
- Provide strategic guidance to board members and staff on donor engagement.
- Provide strategic guidance on the creation of compelling campaign materials and donor communications.
- Establish campaign benchmarks, timelines, and reporting systems.
- Support donor recognition efforts.
IV. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A proven track record of securing six- and seven-figure gifts from high-net-worth individuals.
- At least 10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a focus on capital campaigns.
- Deep knowledge of donor cultivation and stewardship best practices.
- Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with nonprofit boards and executive leadership.
- Familiarity with donor databases and CRM systems.
V. Proposal Requirements
