CCOF & Demeter USA Dual Inspection Partnership

CCOF and Demeter are pleased to announce a partnership to offer dual organic and Biodynamic inspections for those clients that wish to be both. In recent weeks, Demeter and CCOF have been working diligently to align inspectors and their farm and processor inspection schedules to make dual inspections possible, thereby saving clients money and time.

CCOF at Natural Products Expo West

CCOF will be at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim! In addition to being a part of the main trade show event, this year we will be in the Fresh Ideas tent too. We will be there to promote our members, their certified organic products, and our “Organic is Non-GMO & More” seal. Come see us at booth F27 in the Fresh Ideas tent on March 10, or booth 3026 on the main floor of the convention center March 11-13.

CCOF at the California Small Farm Conference

CCOF will be at the 29th California Small Farm Conference in Sacramento March 5-8. We will be there to answer any questions about organic certification, food safety certification, and our new “Organic is Non-GMO & More” seal!

CCOF at the Second Annual Colorado Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association Conference

CCOF will be at the Annual Colorado Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association Conference on Wednesday, February 17! Join commercial fruit and vegetable growers from Colorado of all scales, marketing channels and production practices for this day event in Denver. Bring your organic and food safety certification questions to our booth. See you there!

CCOF Board Member Named as CDFA Deputy Secretary

CCOF-certified member Jenny Lester Moffitt of Dixon Ridge Farms has been appointed Deputy Secretary for Legislation and Special Assistant to the Secretary at the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA). Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced the appointment last week. Moffitt has been managing director of Dixon Ridge Farms since 2005 and served on the CCOF Board for over two years. She previously served as an education, outreach and research specialist at the American Farmland Trust and is vice chair of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board.

CCOF Board Members Join National Co-Op Grocers to Learn about Organic Production in Argentina

In May 2017, Phil LaRocca, chair of the CCOF, Inc. Board of Directors, and Allen Harthorn, chair of the CCOF Foundation Board of Trustees, participated in the National Co+Op Grocers’ tour of a cooperatively managed fair trade vineyard in La Rioja, Argentina. 
 

CCOF Bylaws Vote

To ensure that all CCOF-certified members are represented at the board of directors level, members must approve changes to the CCOF bylaws that will allow the board to establish new chapters. This fall, all certified members will have the opportunity to vote to amend CCOF’s membership bylaws accordingly. In September, members will receive ballots and materials and will have 30 days to respond. A 10 percent quorum is required to enact these revisions to the bylaws.
