Cal Poly Pomona is a public polytechnic university in eastern Los Angeles County, established in 1938. If offers more than 60 undergraduate majors and degree programs in eight academic colleges, with a student body of 24,000.It is part of the California State University system, the largest four-year public university system in the United States. Cal Poly Pomona is a diverse, multicultural university, federally classified as a Hispanic Serving Institution, named a top-ten university in the nation for helping students climb the economic ladder. The mission of Spadra Farm is to advance understanding of environmentally sustainable farming in an urban/peri-urban landscape through education, demonstration, research, and outreach. Spadra Farm is an important piece of Cal Poly Pomona\'s agricultural program and legacy of hands-on, polytechnic learning. It has been preserved as the largest tract of prime agricultural land in the region with excellent soil, climate conditions, water, infrastructure,and proximity to the campus core.
