Stipends Offered for Grower Expertise on Post-Harvest, Value-Added Processing (TITLE)

What are your post-harvest processing and distribution challenges and needs?

As part of a USDA Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) grant, Roots of Change wants to hear from organic producers about their processing needs better understand California’s agricultural supply chain.

Share your insights: Join a listening session in-person or virtually through mid-June. The dates and registration for these events are available on the webpage, linked here.

Earn a Stipend for Your Time: Apply to participate here and receive compensation for sharing your experience.

  • $1000 or $2000 stipend – Available if you represent a group of producers from a California region or tribe and your association has less than a $500,000 annual budget.
  • $500 stipend – Available for individual farmers or tribal members who commit to attending one of the large gatherings for the project (via Zoom or in person) and are available for 4 hours of follow-up, which can be either via Zoom, phone call, or email.

The information gathered will help create a comprehensive map of California’s middle-of-the-supply-chain infrastructure. Farmer input will make this map representative of the current supply chain and will identify areas of need and improvement. The resulting map and plan will inform future supply chain development and investment for years to come.
