USDA’s Ag Outlook Forum To Feature Marketing and Organic Sessions

USDA’s 99th Annual Agricultural Outlook Forum will take place over the course of two days, both online and in person in Arlington, Virginia. On Thursday, February 23, between 11:25 and 11:55 a.m. Eastern, Jenny Lester Moffitt, USDA Under Secretary of Agriculture for Marketing and Regulatory Programs, will moderate a session on Strategies for More and Better Markets.

POSTPONED: National Center for Appropriate Technology To Host Organic Farming Workshop in Mississippi

Join the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) in Brookhaven, Mississippi, on June 17 for an in-person workshop that reviews what it takes to be a USDA-certified organic farmer.

The workshop, taking place both in the classroom and out in the field, will introduce participants to organic regulations. Come learn the basics of organic regulations, then see what they look like on a working organic farm!

OGS 2021 to Honor “a Grower’s Grower”; Vic Smith Announced as Grower of the Year Award Recipient

The Organic Grower Summit, presented by Western Growers and the Organic Produce Network, will honor longtime organic grower Vic Smith as the recipient of the fourth annual Organic Grower Summit’s Grower of the Year. Smith, CEO of JV Smith Companies, was selected based on his ongoing commitment and dedication to excellence in organic production, organic industry leadership, and innovation.
